Uploading Your Music

Share your music with fans by uploading tracks to your Sonic Bloom website.

Supported File Formats

  • Audio: MP3, WAV, FLAC, M4A, OGG
  • Maximum file size: 100MB per track
  • Recommended: MP3 files at 320kbps for best quality and compatibility

How to Upload a Track

  1. Go to your dashboard

  2. Click Music in the sidebar

  3. Click Upload New Track

  4. Fill in the track details:

    • Track Name (required)
    • Artist Name (defaults to your profile)
    • Album/EP (optional)
    • Genre (optional)
    • Release Date (optional)
    • Track Description (optional - tell fans about this song!)
  5. Upload Your Audio File:

    • Click Choose File under "Audio File"
    • Select your MP3, WAV, or other audio file
    • Wait for upload to complete (progress bar will show)
  6. Add Artwork (Optional but Recommended):

    • Click Choose File under "Track Artwork"
    • Select a square image (recommended: 1400x1400px)
    • Formats: JPG, PNG, WebP
    • Maximum size: 5MB
  7. Configure Settings:

    • Visibility: Public (visible to everyone) or Private (only you can see)
    • Allow Downloads: Let fans download this track
    • Streaming: Always enabled - fans can listen on your website
  8. Click Upload Track

Your track will be live on your website immediately!

Track Visibility

Public Tracks

  • Visible on your website
  • Searchable on Sonic Bloom Discover page
  • Shareable via direct link
  • Playable by anyone

Private Tracks

  • Only visible when you're logged in
  • Good for demos or works-in-progress
  • Can be made public later

Managing Your Tracks

Edit a Track

  1. Go to Music in your dashboard
  2. Find the track you want to edit
  3. Click Edit
  4. Make your changes
  5. Click Save Changes

Reorder Tracks

Drag and drop tracks in your Music dashboard to change the order they appear on your website.

Delete a Track

  1. Go to Music in your dashboard
  2. Find the track you want to delete
  3. Click Delete
  4. Confirm deletion

โš ๏ธ Warning: Deleted tracks cannot be recovered. Download a backup first if needed!

Storage Limits by Plan

Best Practices

Audio Quality

  • โœ… Use 320kbps MP3 for best quality
  • โœ… 192kbps MP3 is acceptable for demos
  • โŒ Avoid 128kbps or lower (poor quality)

File Names

  • โœ… Use descriptive names: Band Name - Song Title.mp3
  • โŒ Avoid special characters: !@#$%^&*()

Artwork

  • โœ… Use square images (1400x1400px minimum)
  • โœ… High quality JPG or PNG
  • โœ… Include band name and album title if applicable
  • โŒ Don't use copyrighted images without permission

Track Information

  • โœ… Fill out all fields for better discoverability
  • โœ… Write a compelling track description
  • โœ… Tag your genre accurately
  • โœ… Include lyrics if appropriate

Troubleshooting

Upload Failed

Possible causes:

  • File too large (over 100MB)
  • Unsupported format
  • Internet connection interrupted
  • Storage limit reached

Solutions:

  1. Check file size and format
  2. Compress large WAV files to MP3
  3. Try uploading again
  4. Upgrade plan if storage is full

Track Won't Play

Possible causes:

  • File is corrupt
  • Browser compatibility issue
  • Slow internet connection

Solutions:

  1. Try a different browser
  2. Re-upload the track
  3. Contact support if problem persists

Low Audio Quality

Cause: File bitrate too low

Solution: Re-export your audio at 320kbps MP3 or use lossless WAV/FLAC format

Tips for Success

For New Releases

  1. Upload your track 1-2 weeks before release
  2. Set to Private initially
  3. Share preview with fans via private link
  4. Switch to Public on release day
  5. Promote on social media

For Full Albums

  1. Create an album/EP entry first
  2. Upload all tracks
  3. Arrange tracks in the correct order
  4. Add album artwork to each track
  5. Write album description in your Bio section

For Live Recordings

  1. Tag as "Live" in the genre or title
  2. Include venue and date in track description
  3. Consider making these free downloads to promote your live shows

FAQ

Can I upload the same song multiple times? Yes, but each upload uses storage. Good for different versions (acoustic, remix, etc.)

Can I sell my music through Sonic Bloom? Currently, Sonic Bloom focuses on streaming and promotion. Use the tip jar feature or link to Bandcamp/iTunes for sales.

What happens if I run out of storage? You can delete old tracks or upgrade your plan for more storage.

Can fans download my music? Only if you enable "Allow Downloads" for each track. Otherwise, fans can stream only.
